Simple Itinerary (Subject to change; all activities except shuttle service and baseball game are optional)

Friday
We will depart Washington from Rhode Island Avenue station at 3:30 pm. Please do not arrive late. After a roadside stop for dinner, we anticipate arriving at our hotel around 9:00 pm. At settling into our hotel, we can enjoy the varied nightlife activities within a short walking distance of our hotel.

Saturday
You are free to explore on your own Saturday. Most of us will enjoy the beach. Around dinnertime, we will meet at a predetermined restaurant for food and drinks. At night, the partiers in the group can spend another night out in Virginia Beach.

Sunday
Early risers can spend one last morning on the beach. We will check out of our hotel at 11:00 am and board the shuttle to Norfolk for the baseball game. After an enjoyable afternoon of baseball, we will head home. We anticipate arriving back in Washington around 8:30 pm.

What happens if there is inclement weather?

If, prior to our scheduled departure, the National Weather Service issues a tropical storm warning, tropical storm watch, hurricane warning, hurricane watch, or coastal flood warning for the immediate area in and around Virginia Beach for a time period between 9:00 pm on Friday, June 16th and 11:00 am on Sunday, June 18th, Torque Travel will cancel the planned tour and provide the paid registrant with the option of rebooking the reservation on another tour of equal or lesser value and receive a credit for the difference. If the paying registrant opts to not rebook, she/he will receive a full refund of the charged tour. (Please note that a coastal flood watch is not considered a reason for cancellation of the trip.)

If the weather on Saturday, June 17th is deemed inappropriate for outdoor beach activities, optional shuttle service to the Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center will be offered.

If the baseball game scheduled for Sunday, June 18th is postponed, cancelled, or has its start delayed for more than 1.5 hours for any reason, the baseball game benefit will be cancelled and each registrant on the tour will receive the option of a $18 coupon good for Torque Travel organized tours or whatever rights to ticket replacement is offered by the Norfolk Tides baseball team. Cancellation of the game may accelerate the anticipated return time.

What are the sleeping arrangements?

All registrants will have space to sleep in the hotel room. The specifics of sleeping arrangements will depend upon the exact number of people booked for the trip, but everyone should be prepared to potentially share a bed. Sleeping partners, if necessary, will be decided by the group at large. All shared beds would be queen sized. Single beds may be smaller.

Is there any way I can guarantee a bed or room to myself?

If you want to guarantee a single bed or room to yourself, you will need to purchase a single supplement. Please send an email to torque@torquetours.com describing your request for a single supplement. Single beds and rooms may not always be available, so it is advantageous to make your request as early as possible.

Where is the meeting location?

We will meet at Dunkin Donuts on Rhode Island Row, a short walk from the Rhode Island Avenue Metro Station.

Can I drive myself?

If you would like the freedom to use your own vehicle for this trip, you are welcome to, but you must inform us in advance. Use the discount code DRIVER15 when purchasing this trip to save $15 per person you register under the assumption that you and your guests will drive your own vehicle. Please note that you and your guests still must check in at the designated meeting location at 3:30 pm to receive driving directions and to sign a special release waiver. You are not guaranteed a designated parking space at the hotel and may need to find your own parking, especially if multiple customers take advantage of the driver discount.
