In 1906, businessman and philanthropist Pierre S. du Pont learned that a two centuries old arboretum was under threat of being cut down for timber. du Pont purchased the property, invested in it, and eventually created Longwood Gardens, one of North America's most beautiful display gardens. The summer exhibit includes dancing fountain performances. Join Torque Tours on an August trip to the gardens to honor du Pont's legacy.
